This is my 2nd attempt at "shooting the moon" and I think it turned out much better.

This is my first attempt at taking a picture through my telescope. Not the greatest, because the moon went behind a tree, and I was inside shooting through the window because it's January.

Random Facts About Jeff (you may or may not know...)

1. I feel naked when I'm not wearing a watch

2. The majority of my wardrobe is blue or gray

3. I have had glasses since junior high

4. I quit wearing glasses several years ago and got along just fine...

5. ...until I (apparently) got old and needed new glasses to wear all the time (last month).

6. I complain about the winter cold starting about September.

7. I look forward to the shortest day of the year in December, solely for the fact that it means the days will get longer after that, and that Spring is on the way.

8. Did I mention, I don't like the cold?

Ok, this is just a sampling of a daily occurance in our lawn. Birds. Creepy birds. Imagine if you will our lawn covered with snow, but you cannot see the snow for the birds that have taken up residence on our house and in our lawn as of late. Actually, this does not represent the full creepiness of it. It can be worse at times. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Watch out for the bird poop.

Over the weekend

This weekend was wedding-weekend. My wife's "little" brother got married in an outdoor wedding. Although it was hot and humid, it was a very beautiful wedding. At least it didn't rain. My son was the ring bearer, and he did as good as a 13 month old could do considering the circumstances. Actually, he was great as usual. To see a few pictures visit my wife's blog:

Olympic comments

So, I was at a hotel pool last night and I swam underwater from one length to the other. Pretty awesome, I know... I'm sure my 1 year old son was very much impressed. Look out Michael Phelps...

A comment about Usain Bolt (Jamaican runner): This kid is rediculous. Have you seen him run? He will run all out for about 50 meters, and be so far ahead of the other runners, he slows down, looks around and puts his arms up long before the finish line. He seems pretty cocky, but I suppose he has the "goods" to back it up. It still erks me that although he set a world record, he could have done better had he run it out all the way.

Nothing to blog about

Nothing new ever happens, or perhaps I just need to pay more attention...

It's your birthday, come and get your spankins

So, tomorrow I turn 28. I'm fine with it. Really. It's just 2 years from 30, which doesn't look as bad as it did 5 years ago. But, then I think that it's just 12 years from 40, and 12 years isn't that far off. I graduated highschool 10 years ago, and that time has just flown by. Granted, I spent 8 of those years in school, which kept me busy, and thus the time flying. But, the point is... this is the first time in my life where I feel like I'm close to an early mini-mid-life crisis. I woke up the other morning and my shoulder hurt. Two hours later my knee hurt. By the end of the day my ankle hurt. Is this the beginning of the end? Now I have to be more concerned about cholesterol, family history, exercise, etc. My metabolism is slowing down, and I'm not the skinny kid who couldn't gain weight if he tried anymore.
Ok, enough whining. I'll be fine. I'm still young(ish).

Terrible Tues...

I hate Tuesdays. I work all day at work #1, get an hour and 1/2 off to see my family and have dinner, then head to work #2. I usually don't get home until after 9. So, it stinks, and this is my way to vent. Have a good day.
